March 2024 Q&A + Exciting Blog Updates

March has flown by, which means it's time for another Q&A. These are questions answered by me, submitted by you!

"Are there any discounts you can get for Universal? Is the cost always the same or are there some dates that are higher than others?"

Great questions!

Firstly, Universal Orlando Resort offers different discounts on hotels and tickets year round. Some offers, like the current four day ticket promotion or the three-park five-night vacation package, are open to anyone! Other offers are only open to specific groups, such as the military discounts or the UOAP discounts. You can find all the current discounts offered through Universal Orlando Resort here. There are other entities outside of Universal Orlando Resort that sell authorized tickets, such as Orlando Informer. I highly recommend checking out the current offers for tickets even if you are already getting a great deal. You may only save $50, but money is money.

The cost of visiting will vary through the year depending on when you decide to visit. For example, you'll pay more for tickets and hotels during the Halloween Horror Nights season than you would in the off season of January or February. The summer is generally more expensive and so are weekends.

"Are there any secret spots in Universal to go see?"

Showing people the best secret spots is truly one of my favorite parts about visiting the parks with someone who has never been, and there are so many secret spots. Some spots are not as secret, but the stories behind them are less known. Here are a few of my personal favorites:

  • A piece of the Berlin Wall is located behind the Hard Rock Cafe at CityWalk.

  • Curious about how the Men in Black HQ functions? Ask a team member at the attraction for an immigration tour (availability depends on staff availability). Other attractions, such as Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, also offer backstage tours, you just have to ask!

  • Knockturn Alley may not be a super secret, but it's super hard to find for some. Go to Diagon Alley in Universal Studios Florida, locate The Leaky Cauldron, then look to the right of the entrance. See that sketchy looking alleyway into darkness? That's the one.

  • Camp Jurassic, located in Island's of Adventure in Jurassic Park, is full of winding tunnels, water features, and rope climbs. Looking from the outside, it definitely looks like it is made for the kiddos (and that's because it is), but even as an adult there is so much to explore here. Plus, it's a great shaded space from those hot and humid Orlando summers. Beware of that hidden geyser though, it gives no warning and you will get soaked.

  • That big plane, the Hemisphere Dancer, outside Margaritaville in CityWalk? It's one of Jimmy's actual planes!

There are so many more, but I can't give up all my secrets at once.
